The Entrants

The Analysts have submitted their papers and claimed their Home Teams to start the race. The Claim Box for Fibonacci Stakes V is:

Fibonacci Stakes V | Claim Box
Claim Box for Fibonacci Stakes V

Slate of Games

Fibonacci Stakes V | Slate of Games
Slate of Games for Fibonacci Stakes V

Superscript 1 next to Home Team means the game is played internationally (Leg 3).

The slate of games for Fibonacci Stakes V includes an unprecedented 10 head-to-head competitions this month (the first tiebreaker in the race).

In Leg 1, the front stretch, we kick off the Fibonacci Stakes with three head-to-heads: Little Tuna seeks to super charge Wise Orangutan, Craft Brew looks to quaff down Big Tuna, and Atwork aims to pack up Jimmy V.

In Leg 2, the clubhouse turn, The Strategist makes a scratching post of The Bookie, and Wise O. flings poo at Craft Brew in their second head-to-head competition.

In Leg 3, the backstretch, Atwork packs up for the road to Wise O., Roxy Trot eagle eyes Big Tuna, and B-Reezy pours a pint of Craft Brew.

in Leg 4, the far turn, Wise O. eyes his chances to hawk a Trifecta from the Strategist.

In Leg 5, the home stretch, Little Tuna re-enacts the 1994 AFC Championship game with The Bookie.

Home teams owned by an Analyst are in bold. The team at the left is the visiting team; the team at the right is the host (playing at home). There is yet another record number of featured games: five Thursday games (including two on Thanksgiving), five Sunday nights, and two Monday nights.

Four teams earn a bye week during the month. Bye weeks diminish the potential for bonus points since the Home Team may not be picked two weeks in a row.

Picks

Remember: Every Analyst has a bias for his or her Home Team and may NOT pick their Claimed team to lose. Analysts do not have to pick his or her Home Team to win, but Correct Home Team Picks remains the second tiebreaker. See the complete Fibonacci Stakes rules for more detail.

Email picks in private to The Bookie before each leg (week) of the Race. Thursday games are due by 2pm local times on Thursdays (flexible per The Bookie’s time in special circumstances). All three Picks are due on Saturdays at 2pm local times. No Picks for games after kickoffs are accepted.

PC-Fecta Derby V (2018-19)

Final Standings

Heading into the homestretch, Big Tuna had the commanding lead and Craft Brew had built a strong tiebreaker record.IN the fourth leg, there were only 7 games total to Pick from and only 5 with Player Hater point opportunities. Every Player Hater team lost this week, and the only Analysts to get Trifectas were those who played the long game.

The winner of Player Haters Preakness V is:

Big Tuna! In his first win since Season I in his otherwise illustrious career, Big Tuna jumped to an early lead and paced his way to the finish line with 3 Trifectas in the month. He wins Player Haters Preakness V!

For the Preakness, Craft Brew Claimed a solid thoroughbred and ran a steady race to Place after earning 3 Trifectas and 3 points total.

The Strategist, Wise Orangutan and Roxy Trot finished the Preakness with 2 points each. The Strategist shows with a head-to-head tiebreaker over Roxy Trot and more Correct Home Picks over Wise O. Roxy Trot (2 Correct Home Team Picks) finishes just out of the Winner’s Circle in fourth over Wise O. (1 Correct Home Team Pick).

B-Reezy, Little Tuna, Sponge Mom and Jimmy V end the Preakness with 1 Trifecta point. Jimmy V takes fifth place with a head-to-head tiebreaker over Sponge Mom and more Correct Home Team Picks than B-Reezy and Little Tuna. Sponge Mom finishes seventh on Correct Home Team Picks, followed by B-Reezy in eighth and Little Tuna in ninth, separated only by 0.3 forced turnovers per game.

The Bookie and Atwork struggled to master the Preakness track. The end in a deadheat for tenth place with no points, no Correct Home Team Picks, and 1 forced turnover per game!
