Analyst of the Year IX

The Analysts bounce back with their best week of Season IX! Eleven Analysts earn Trifectas and a clear leader emerges from the field!

Bookie (4 Trifectas, 22 Correct Picks) takes control of the leader board! She is the only Analyst to reach the 9-year average Trifecta Accuracy rate of 36% as of Week 11 in Season IX.

She leads by one length over crowded field with 3 Trifectas each: Jimmy V, Sponge Mom, Mo Money, Big Tuna, The Strategist, and KateTDid. By Correct Picks, Mo Money falls one spot to second place with 22 Correct Picks, while Sponge Mom holds onto third place with 21 Correct Picks. Jimmy V and KateTDid share fourth place with 20 Correct Picks, with The Strategist in sixth with 19 Correct Picks and Big Tuna in seventh with 17 Correct Picks.

With 2 Trifectas each, the middle of the field is led by Roxy Trot (22 Correct Picks) in eighth, Boo Boo (20 Correct Picks) in ninth, while Woody, Wise Orangutan, and Wreck It Ralph contest tenth place with 18 Correct Picks each.

B-Reezy, Craft Brew, and Bug Bug (1 Trifecta each) remain within striking distance at the back of the field, whereas Little Tuna and Atwork (0 Trifectas each) may soon be facing the proverbial glue factory if they do not get off the mark!

Heading into the near turn, Week 10 carries on the tradition of Analysts bumbling through the ninth running of the Marathon of the Ass!

Everyone remains within 3 Trifectas of the leader with eight weeks to go. We will enumerate the current Standings in hopes that the Analysts will be spurred to get Trifectas after looking at the rankings as a list:

It is pretty much any Analysts’ competition to Win still. Correct Pick differences are also fairly nominal and a string of Trifectas will shake up the leader board in 2-3 weeks!

The back stretch closes with Week 9, and the Analysts again hit a heavy track! After the official midpoint of Season IX, our illustrious Analysts have a 15.7% Trifecta Accuracy Rate and 55.8% Correct Pick Rate…The worst on record! Nonetheless, we have leaders and we have hopers!

Mo Money (3 Trifectas, 20 Correct Picks) continues to hold her slim lead over Bookie (3 Trifectas, 18 Correct Picks). Both front-runners, however, are followed by a slew of contenders only 1 Trifecta behind!

Big Tuna adds a Trifecta to join Sponge Mom, The Strategist, KateTDid and Jimmy V at 2 Trifectas each. Sponge Mom and KateTDid lead the group in third place with 16 Correct Picks, followed by Jimmy V and The Strategist in fifth place (15 Correct Picks each). Big Tuna (14 Correct Picks) trails by a length in seventh position.

Wreck It Ralph gains his first Trifecta of Season IX to join seven other Analysts in a tie with 1 Trifecta each. Craft Brew (18), Roxy Trot (17), B-Reezy (16), and Boo Boo (16) currently have secured a spot in the top twelve positions — and a Claim for the Super Trifecta Bowl IX.

The last five Analysts will lose Claim to Home Team in Super Trifecta Bowl IX. Currently — and again with 1 Trifecta each — Woody and Wise Orangutan are running neck-and-neck for the twelfth and final Claim with 14 Correct Picks each. Wreck It Ralph (13 Correct Picks) is in fourteenth position and Bug Bug (11 Correct Picks) is in fifteenth position — both need more Correct Picks at the least to secure a Claim before the end of the regular season.

Little Tuna and Atwork have no Trifectas on the season. Both need to get to step-step-steppin’ if they hope to hold Claim to a Home Team in Super Trifecta Bowl IX.

A most excellent week for the Analysts as — for the first time this season (!) — a majority (9 of 17) earn Trifectas in a single week! All but three Analysts are now off the schneid. And (we never thought we would write these words this late in a season)…

Bookie has moved into a tie for first place with Mo Money at 3 Trifectas each. Mo Money holds the inside rail with 18 Correct Picks on the season, but Bookie’s 16 Correct Picks is the second best total in the WFTL!

In the battle for third place at 2 Trifectas each, Sponge Mom (14), The Strategist (14), and KateTDid (14) have the advantage over Jimmy V (13).

The middle of the field is crowded with eight Analysts at 1 Trifecta each. Craft Brew (16), Roxy Trot (15), B-Reezy (14), and Boo Boo (14) have the inside rail over Woody (12), Wise Orangutan (12), Big Tuna (11), and Bug Bug (10).

Little Tuna, Atwork and Wreck It Ralph form the back of the field — none have yet to earn a Trifecta in this terribly difficult season! We think we would be beating a dead horse if were to mention that a poo-flinging monkey is likely to get 1 Trifecta if given 8 opportunities (12%)…So we will just leave that un-noted.

Down the back stretch, the Analysts stumble for the second time this season and earn 0 Trifectas on the week! The Analysts’ Trifecta Accuracy returns to a sub-monkey-ish 10.9%, while the Correct Picks Accuracy is a coin- or poo-toss rate of 52.9%. Little change week-to-week, so a quick rundown of the order…

Mo Money (2 Trifectas, 15 Correct Picks) leads, followed by Bookie and KateTDid (2 Trifectas, 13 Correct Picks each). The Strategist (2 Trifectas, 12 Correct Picks) rounds out the top of the field.

With 1 Trifecta each in Season IX, by Correct Picks, Sponge Mom (11 Correct Picks) holds the inside rail over Jimmy V (10 Correct Picks), Big Tuna (10 Correct Picks) and Wise Orangutan (10 Correct Picks). Bug Bug (9 Correct Picks) closes out the middle of the field in ninth position.

Down the back stretch, the track remains a laborious task! Only three Analysts add Trifectas this week. The Analysts’ Trifecta Accuracy remains a monkey-ish 12.7%, while the Correct Picks Accuracy is a coin- or poo-toss rate of 54.9%. That said, there is a front, middle, and back of the field (finally!) after six weeks…

Bookie nabs her 2nd Trifecta of the season and moves to the front of the field with Mo Money, The Strategist and KateTDid (2 Trifectas each). Mo Money holds her lead with 14 Correct Picks in first place, followed by KateTDid with 12 Correct Picks. The Strategist and Bookie run neck-and-neck with 11 Correct Picks.

With their first Trifectas of Season IX, Wise Orangutan and Bug Bug join Jimmy V, Sponge Mom, and Big Tuna (1 Trifecta each) in the middle of the field. The heaviest track in WFTL history! Yet again, only one Analysts gets a Trifecta in the week. The Analysts’ Trifecta Accuracy remains a sub-monkey 11.8%, while the Correct Picks Accuracy is a languid, coin-flipping, poo-flinging rate of 53.7%. Nonetheless, we are all judged on our individual merits…

Galloping into the back stretch, Mo Money (2 Trifecta, 12 Correct Picks) takes over sole possession of first place. With only three incorrect Picks on the season, her Correct Pick Accuracy is an astonishing 80% on the season.

KateTDid (2 Trifectas, 10 Correct Picks) and The Strategist (2 Trifecta, 10 Correct Picks) slip into second place. They are the only other Analysts currently beating the collective wisdom of previous seasons: around 37% Trifecta Accuracy and 67% Pick Accuracy.

With the only other Trifectas of the season (1 each), Jimmy V, Sponge Mom, Big Tuna, and Bookie vie for fourth place. On Correct Picks, Jimmy V and Sponge Mom move up into a tie with Bookie (8 Correct Picks each) to share fourth place, while Big Tuna falls into seventh place (7 Correct Picks).

As for the rest of the Analysts tied with 0 Trifectas…

In the middle of the field with at least a 50% Pick Accuracy rate, Boo Boo (10 Correct Picks) and Craft Brew (10 Correct Picks) share eighth place. Roxy Trot (9 Correct Picks) runs in tenth place, in front of Atwork (8 Correct Picks) in eleventh place.

The remaining Analysts have a Pick Accuracy rate below 50%! We recommend getting a poo-flinging monkey before the prices surge!!

In twelfth place with 7 Correct Picks each, Woody and B-Reezy can rise above the apes with a good showing in Week 6. In a tie for fourteenth place with 6 Correct Picks, Little Tuna, Wise Orangutan and Wreck It Ralph will need a couple of weeks to prove they have evolved. Coming out of the far turn of The Marathon of the Ass, the Analysts have their first banner week with five Trifectas!

KateTDid (2 Trifectas, 8 Correct Picks) yields ground to The Strategist (2 Trifecta, 8 Correct Picks) and they run neck and neck in first place. Mo Money (1 Trifecta, 9 Correct Picks) remains in third place over a surging midfield.

With their first Trifectas of the season, Jimmy V, Sponge Mom, Big Tuna, and Bookie escape the gate before reaching the back stretch. On Correct Picks, Bookie and Big Tuna (7 Correct Picks each) share fourth place, while Jimmy V and Sponge Mom share sixth (6 Correct Picks).
