Analysts have to be within 2 Trifectas of the second place Analyst, Atwork, to remain in contention for Place in the Marathon of the Ass in Week 16. If Atwork earns another Trifecta, (a) Craft Brew remains eligible for one more week with or without a Trifecta, (b)  Roxy Trot and B-Reezy must earn a Trifecta to stay in contention for the Place and (c) Sponge Mom and The Bookie are eliminated for the Place. Jimmy V adds a record-setting 10th Trifecta on the year!

With three weeks to go, he has a two length lead on Atwork in second place with 8 Trifectas for the season. Atwork (33), however, has more Correct Picks, so Jimmy V (32) will have to hold his lead down the home stretch. Craft Brew stays alive in third place at 7 Trifectas and 32 Correct Picks on the season. These are the last three Analysts fighting for the Win in the Marathon of the Ass.

Roxy Trot shares fourth place with B-Reezy, with both at 6 Trifectas and 30 Correct Picks. The Bookie now shares sixth place with Sponge Mom at 5 Trifectas and 28 Correct Picks. These four Analysts can still Place if they can catch Atwork at 8 Trifectas in the final weeks.

At 4 Trifectas each, Big Tuna, Wise Orangutan, and Woody, are still able to Show if they can catch Craft Brew at 7 Trifectas. Woody holds eighth position with 28 Correct Picks, followed by Big Tuna with 26 Correct Picks and Wise Orangutan with 23 Correct Picks.

The Seeders Cup VI will test the savviest Analyst’s ability to Pick the playoff-caliber teams’ final seeding for the professional football playoffs! There are no less than 14 head-to-head match-ups between Analysts’ Home Teams competing for playoff berths. The most challenging may be Leg 1 with only 8 total games and 5 head-to-head clashes between the Claimed thoroughbreds. In contrast, Leg 4 could be the spoiler week as nine of thirteen teams face off against the season’s disappointing steeds.

Leg 1 features five head-to-head competitions: Little Tuna at Woody (TNF), The Strategist at The Bookie, Sponge Mom at Big Tuna, Craft Brew at Roxy Trot, and Wise Orangutan at Jimmy V. Leg 2 pits Woody against Atwork, Jimmy V against Little Tuna, and KateTDid against Big Tuna. Leg 3 sends The Bookie to Roxy Trot, Jimmy V to Sponge Mom, Craft Brew to Woody, and Atwork to B-Reezy. Leg 4 has Woody facing B-Reezy and Sponge Mom facing Wise Orangutan.

The Seeders’ Cup bonuses will be determined week-to-week per the NFL playoff-clinching scenarios.

Home teams owned by an Analyst are in bold on the Slate of Games. The team at the left is the visiting team; the team at the right is the host (playing at home). There are many featured games: two Thursday night games, two Saturday games, at least three Sunday night games (subject to flex scheduling in Week 17) and two Monday night games.

Picks

Remember: Every Analyst has a bias for his or her Home Team and may NOT Pick their Claimed team to lose. Analysts do not have to pick his or her Home Team to win.

Email picks in private to The Bookie before each Leg (week) of the Race. For Legs 1 and 2, Picks for Thursday Night games are due by 2pm on Thursdays and Sunday/Monday Picks are due on Saturdays at 2pm. For Leg 3, with Saturday games, ALL Picks are due on Friday evening. For Leg 4, with all games on Sunday, Picks are due on Saturday at 2pm. Receipt of Picks is flexible per The Bookie’s discretion in special circumstances. No Picks for games after kickoffs are accepted.

Headed down the home stretch, the Fibonacci Stakes narrowed to a sprint between six Analysts with different team Picks combinations for the Win! It looked as if front runners would take the Crown, but then their Home Teams spit the bit, creating an opening on the outside rail for…

Wise Orangutan! With two underdogs facing the #1 seeds in their conference, Wise Orangutan nets the only 21-point Trifecta in Leg 5 to bring his total to 43 points for the Win. After a strong run on Thanksgiving Day, Woody sputtered in the final third of the home stretch, but still Places with 41 points. The Bookie challenged until the very end, but then her colt bucked the ball to the opposing team, finishing with the Show at 37 points.

B-Reezy entered the home stretch with a favorable bill-ing, but made an unwise switch at Picks, holding him back to fourth place at 35 points.

Craft Brew edges out Roxy Trot for fifth place. Both scored 30 points, and Craft Brew had 1 more Correct Home Team Pick than Roxy Trot in sixth place. Jimmy V strolls into seventh place at 29 points with four Trifectas during the Stakes, but only 1 Fibonacci Bonus Pick.

Sponge Mom led entering the home stretch, but struggled to gain traction. She ends in eighth place with 28 Trifecta points. Atwork takes ninth place with 27 points after solid run in the final three Legs. Big Tuna finishes in tenth with 25 points on the strength of the fifth leg of his Picks.

KateTDid stumbled down the home stretch, Boxed Out by The Bookie, to end in eleventh place with 24 points. The Strategist struggles with the math and finishes in twelfth place at 15 Trifecta points, leading only Little Tuna who labored from wire-to-wire on the long track with 7 Trifecta points.

Home Team Claims

Before the fourth Crown Race, the Analysts have one last opportunity to upgrade the horse they road in on. As in past Home Team swaps, the Analysts Claim new steeds in the order from worst current Home Team record to best:

After each of the four Races in the regular season, Analysts have the option of releasing their Home Team and selecting a new team to symbolize their horse sense from those teams not currently owned by other Analysts. If more than one Analyst releases their Home Team at the end of a Race, the new selections will go in order of the former teams’ win-loss records, from worst to best, using the official tie-breaking rules for team playoff ranks in the professional football league. In other words, the Analyst with the worst former team selects first, and so forth, to the best former team.
